Counselling

Tutoring will help students grasp core content and knowledge and as a result, for most students, their grades will improve.  However, there are often many other factors which affect progress.  Some of these are academic pressures, home-life stresses, poor self-esteem, and poor coping skills. Any combination of these and other personal factors often create anxiety and distress for students and cause a `downward` spiral of negative self-esteem, loss of motivation and hope.  Behavioral problems and conflict may arise or students may appear withdrawn.

Private and confidential counseling sessions with our Masters level counselor will help students overcome any internal struggles and refocus with clear goals in mind.

For Tutoring Wonders`students, sessions are $75 for the first session and $60 for subsequent sessions. Add $10 for all other customers.

Students can seek counseling sessions when the following symptoms are apparent:

Anxiety (general, test-performance, going blank)

Fear of failure

Not doing homework

Lack of Motivation (student is not meeting their potential)

Low self-esteem

Sadness

Acting Out (aggressive, dramatic, sympathetic ploys)
